Speed requires composure

In this keynote address, Osman Tüccaroglu, the father of Porsche Carrera Cup driver Gian Luca Tüccaroglu, takes the audience on a journey through an extraordinary motorsports story—one defined by speed, family, and their shared journey to the top.

What at first glance looks like a classic racing career is, in reality, an unusual story: a father who has been active in karting for decades and later in GT racing, and a son who comes from a soccer background, then makes the switch to motorsports and immediately makes an impact at the highest level.

Drawing on personal insights from everyday racing life, the keynote speech highlights the role that mental strength, physical fitness, and a clear mindset play when decisions must be made in a split second. The focus is on five key skills: focus, discipline, handling pressure, teamwork, and a willingness to learn—and how these are crucial not only on the racetrack, but also in professional life and everyday situations.

What makes this particularly fascinating is the dynamic between father and son in the same sport—the interplay of experience, guidance, and the moment when responsibility is passed on.

In the end, it becomes clear: Success comes when experience, passion, and determination come together—and when you’re ready to give it your all at the decisive moment.

Racing driver, coach & motorsports expert, Porsche Sports Cup / GT racing
Osman Tüccaroglu has been involved in motorsports since the age of 14 and has been at home in karting for decades, later moving on to GT and endurance racing. His career is characterized by consistency, experience, and a deep understanding of what performance in racing truly means. In addition to his own career in motorsports, he has closely guided the development of his son, Gian Luca—from a soccer goalkeeper with professional ambitions to a successful newcomer in the Porsche Sports Cup. Gian Luca made his breakthrough right away in 2022, winning several championship titles and earning a direct promotion to the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. In 2023, Osman himself made motorsport history: In the Porsche GT4 category, he became the oldest overall winner of a season in the Porsche Sports Cup—an achievement that was later even honored in an exhibition at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg. Today, his focus is on managing his son’s career in professional motorsport. He works behind the scenes on setups, strategy, and athletic development, drawing on his decades of experience in training, racing, and high-performance environments. A particular focus for both of them is physical and mental fitness: intensive training, international sessions, and extreme conditions—from over 40 degrees in the summer to maximum stress in the cockpit. It is precisely this resilience that continues to bind father and son to this day.
